Anyone know what happened to them? I have a few songs like Payoff etc from a long time ago. Disbanded I assume?

    TACOS!

Undetermined hiatus. No comebacks or anything planed.

I used to be in touch with one of their close friends but lost contact a long time ago.

EDIT: Now I remember, one of them is working on the side project Biopsy

    HI !

I think they said what they needed to say and stepped off. Right around '99-00 when everything was turning into futurpop, wumpscut and suicide commando stopped progressing their music and sort of settled into "their sound", leaether strip put out his final single for a long time, numb completely quit, etc.

Not every artist needs to turn into a parody of themselves before knowing when to call it a day (puppywumpcommandostriptkkkmfdmansonministryvacetcetcetc).

Biopsy quit right around the same time. It's been 10 years. Jeez i feel like my parents, desperately holding onto the '60s...

oh jeez well I'm so sorry. I'll be careful not to ask about an industrial band on this forum. I've been on side-line since 2005. I can only recall one discussion long ago.

Yeah, everyone said the same thing about Dominik Van Reich (Amgod). There were even whole joke threads about it, like signs of the apocalypse or something. He had completely disappeared except for a few dj appearances and for a few generic techno themes that had leaked out here and there. Nowadays, he's coming out with a double album very soon, and it's like he had never left.

Not saying the same with Aghast View, but people do change their mind. Or maybe there's some unreleased stuff in the vault.

  10. "Phaseknox" was a great album, the band really developed.

  11. absolutely love Aghast View. one of the greats.

while i would love a new Aghast View, I'm happy with what they've done and I'm sure their albums will still be played for many years to come

  12. Was really hoping for a new LP after Phaseknox. I always felt they could have realized their potential if they had better production...

  13. I LOVE their earlier releases "Nitrovisceral", Vapor Eyes"& "Carcinopest".

  14. This is where I would differ. I loved the raw-ness of AV's later work. I think smoother production would have taken away from this.

  15. Yeah, "Nitrovisceral" was also pretty good....damn it, that was a long time ago that I bought that album.

    HI !

yea the demo tracks from truthead are some of my favorites. The double vocals thing on the last album reminded me too much of kmfdm.

  18. i think production is way more important to the people who know a thing or two about production and/or are learning how to produce higher quality recordings.

i think too much emphasis is placed on production. i hear people talking about making recordings more dirty, analog or vintage sounding... then i hear people talking about making the recordings more pristine, polished, perfect, etc.

i think the production is a significant part of the final product but 95% of my listening pleasure is derived from the music itself... a weak analogy would be an actor and the lighting guy... i care more about the actor and his actions than the guy that is shining a light on him, or how the light is shone.

i also think that many more musicians can learn better production techniques.. but the opposite isn't true.. i don't feel like many excellent producers could become better musicians. production can be learned, true musicianship is a bit more ethereal.

  20. Well the severe clipping in Glass Waves makes the song hard to listen to with my AKG K81s... though I love the album.
