  3. played for a few minutes. computer kept shutting down after about 30 minutes... realized my video cards were getting hot... then realized they were getting hot because ATI hasn't released crossfire drivers to work with skyrim yet... think the drivers will be out next week

from what i've seen so far i'm excited. the graphics didn't improve much since oblivion.. good and bad thing i guess... i don't have to upgrade my PC to play at least

  5. Not sure I agree. Vast graphic improvement from Oblivion on the 360 and now Skyrim on the PS3. The cell shading, textures, everything is very detailed and multilayered. The water, omg. The water looks almost real. Streams, waterfalls. Great lighting and reflections. I play stealth, so I get to admire the scenery quite a bit while i'm waiting for a moment to strike. I am in awe this time. It is a very immersive game.

  7. I played Oblivion for about 2 weeks when it came out then I got bored with it. Too much wandering around and performing useless tasks. I especially got tired of all the wolfs and random shit that would constantly start shit with you. Is Skyrim like this?

  8. I didnt get it...yet. Too busy with the new COD and BF3 fun.

  9. Eric, if you did not like Oblivion, you will not like Skyrim. It sounds like overall sandbox RPG's are not your thing.

  10. what do you like better out of COD and BF3?

  11. My opinion:whichever is cheaper when I get to the shop. FPS to me are a dime a dozen.

  12. I like BF3 better hands down. The graphics are amazing and the fact that you can pilot attack choppers or jets, tanks, humvees, etc. You dont have that type option in COD other then "summoning" an attack copter for example. The realism of BF3 is just amazing as a whole. You can blow building apart, etc.

I never played oblivion before, so I was interested in giving skyrim a try. Stopped playing after 15 minutes. The game beginning with you escaping after the dragon flies in and lights the town up in flames was so predictable and cliche that I didn't even want to continue on with the game much long after that.

  14. Oh brilliant! You can "mine", for materials now like another game I [er everyone] have been playing recently. This makes the whole "smithing", feature a lot more interesting and fun. I discovered this in a cave where some bandits where poaching and butchering Mammoths. I massacred the whole lot of em.

    I frakking LOVE this game!

As usuall i started playing as a dark elf (favorite race). Am already lvl 20, with high skills in sneak and archery. Only played the main story line to the greybeards, and will be wandering off and go plunder some dungeons. I have a pretty good PC and the game looks fantastic on my machine. I have never ever seen better graphics in my life.
Personally i though Oblivion was boring after a while. Morrowind is still my favorite, and i have to see if this one stays interesting.

So far only slayed two dragons (thats including the one in the storyline). The second i encountered somewhere in the north, and this one was breathing fire. People who played Elder Scrolls games before know that attacking dark elves with fire and firespells is not exactly the smartest thing to do. :D

Yup... I was going to wait a while to buy this game but bought into the 11-11-11 hype and picked it up on release day for the xbox. AMAZING game. It feels more *real* than oblivion. It reminds me more of Morrowind... the way that game made you feel like you were truly on your own and exploring a real world. Only thing is... I can't decide if I want to keep playing as a dark elf stealth / dark brotherhood type character (assassin) or as a nord warrior who is good and helps people. I'm torn ;(. I have both characters up to level 8 and just finished the part where you see the first dragon and kill him. I'm supposed to go see the greybeards now... but I don't want to lol. Someone help me.

Oh... and also on the xbox.. I get these horrible textures. Like I'm playing N64. I know it's a common problem and they will fix it at some point... but it really takes you out of the immersion.

    9.5/10.

From what i heard graphics are best on PC (if your PC can handle that is). I have no graphics problems whatsoever.

Anyway, Skyrim is filled with neat stuff. Today i was enetering Whiterun and some guy comes up and gives me an invite for the Mythic dawn (the baddies from Oblivion) museum in one of the towns on the northcoast. I go there and there is this shack with some weird guy who has the robes, all 4 of the commentaries and a page from the mysterium xarxes, and off i go looking for the parts of Mehrunes Dagon's razor, which is safely in my possession now. Dark side ftw! Though that bastard Mehrunes spawned two Dremora Kynreeves after he gave me the razor. Damn deadra! :D

  19. Today I ran into a Dwarven Centurion. Everything I threw at it did nothing. I got the hell out of there for now.

This world is so BIG. Damn, I just keep finding new stuff. Having companions like New Vegas is really cool as well.

Dwarven Centurion! I was thinking that it was becoming a bit like oblivion but just now i found fucking dwemer ruins! Will be plundering those in a few. It seems Betheshda just threw everything which is cool into this game. Crafting from minecraft, stuff from previous elder scrolls games, Tomb raider like puzzles and huge dragons and weird powers. This game is truly epic! Next i want a gate to oblivion and deadric ruins! And Vivec as companion!
