Panic Girl is a German female artist operating from Munich (Germany). With this debut release Martha Plachetka reveals a fine taste for laidback and triphop rhythmic, but also for cool, icy sound treatments. Her sweet and sexy vocals create a delicious and provocative duality to the music, but in the end it comes to perfect harmony. "Burn And Rise" isn't only the title song from the EP, but also the real jewel for this work. I've been especially ravished by the wonderful cold sound texture and the deep penetrating bassline. This is not the usual kind of triphop, being more used to hear 'warm' releases. Panic Girl has a colder expression, which makes her sound less typical while moving towards other electronic orientations. The opening songs "Midnight" and "Blue Lights" also deserve some attention. A cool debut, which I hope will be followed by a full length!
