After two albums on Hive Records ESA now released a 2nd album on Tympanik Audio. “The Immaculate Manipulation” is a great title for the remix collection featured on this new release. The remixes are a look back at the previous album “The Sea & The Silence” released early 2009. We get a real nice selection of remixes with projects like Manufactura, C-Drone defect, The Synthetic Dream Foundation, Stendeck, Access To Arasaka and Lights Out Asia as most familiar names. Yet the two most interesting (and surprising) names are probably the less familiar ones! I’m referring to Psilopsyb and Mood Deluxe. Both projects are more active in the psy-trance style. The Psilopsyb remix of “The Devil Worships” is a pure sensation! It’s hard and trance with some very efficient vocal effect on top. “The Sea & The Silence – Part 1” remixed by Mood Deluxe is another great approach in trance. Exotic is one more project to mention, which remixed “It’s Hard To Sleep In Hell” in a trance direction. And realizing The Synthetic Dream Foundation is also one of the remixers you’ll understand that ‘trance’ takes an important part on the album. Well, you don’t hear me complaining! Among the other remixes we get an interesting bombastic approach from C-Drone-Defect remixing “Your Anger Is A Gift” and the more into down tempo remix of Monsieur L’Antechrist with a remix of “Randomly Selected Drawbacks Of The Human Condition”. I personally expected a bit more out of remixes by Manufactura, Stendeck and Access To Arasaka, but it must be not always that easy to transpose another sound than yours into something exciting. ESA also added a new song to this album. It’s the opening track entitled “I Am The Filth”, which is one of the absolute highlights and I even dare to say one of the best ESA-cuts ever. It’s a dark-bombastic piece of electronics leaded with shamanic rhythms. It all sounds like a more electronic version of This Morn’Omina! This cut is pure lust! I prefer the original versions from “The Sea & The Silence”, but the new song (“I Am The Filth”) brings a great bonus!
