D.J.GOLUBb is a project hailing from Russia that has already been active for a couple of years now. "Underground Pathos" is the latest release from this solo-artist, which opens with a rather strange sounding cover of Visage's "We Fade To Grey". The original version has been considerably reworked in a recognizable, but quite different and minimal version. The style of D.J.GOLUBb music falls somewhere in between heavy bombastic electro constellations and industrial outbursts. A few other influences like astral electronic bleeps, a few trance elements and even classical samplings (cf. Prokofiev) have been added all over the composition. "Underground Pathos" doesn't sound like the standard electro-industrial release, but clearly tries to bring some refreshing elements. The least I can say is it works quite well on most of the songs. "Seven", "Reason - 2" and "Robot Voice" are the main attention grabbers from this opus. A very last cool track is a mix D.J.GOLUBb made for LD Molotov. The "D.J.GOLUBb Mix" of "Psalm Zero" is more electro-minded while being quite melodic as well. This is one more interesting project from the digital X-Line roster!
