-Comment: I always feel ashamed when putting a cd in my disc player without knowing any single band from the tracklist. I simply never heard from these bands before from both labels operating from The Netherlands. It seems that most of the bands are signed on one of these labels, which seem to be quite open-minded in style(s). What I’ve heard here is gorgeous! Most of the bands are definitely dealing with electronic music, but are exploring a wide range of influences leading them into a kind of astral sonic manipulation. Most of the songs remain instrumentals although spoken samplings are now and than adding a bonus. The Eerier Child opens the sampler with a real cool electro-atmospheric piece. Don’t expect any kind of new-age experiment here. The songs have been driven by an accurate rhythmic, which makes it all really exciting… now danceable than more sensual! The Eerier Child has been featured with 2 songs on the compilation. The 2nd one is also really exciting and especially for the kind of space guitar riff running through the song. Another cool project is Atiq experimenting with great electro-atmospheres and some kind of broken beats on top. Enk sounds into rhythm and a mix of guitar and electronic arrangements. Another cut from this project is more into the exploration of d’n’b elements merged with astral bleeps. Evs is another remarkable formation revealing irresistible sound treatments and a rather sexy down tempo. I’ve kept the best project for the end. Knex delivers an absolute fabulous track entitled “Standard Procedure”. This is progressive electronic music that will seduce many lovers of avant-garde electronics. This is an unforgettable introduction to the world of these labels and bands and I hope they’ll bring us a more few surprises like this.
