While they're preparing a European tour for Autumn, [SITD] strikes back after two years of silence with their 4th full length. "Rot" (or "Red" in English) is an interesting color that is often associated with energy, heat, blood and strong emotions like aggression, passion and love. Furthermore it also represents revolutionary movements and symbolizes wrath - one of the seven deadly sins. So far so good as it also seems that "Rot" is probably the hardest album of the band to date. After a kind of intro song we get the hard banging "Catharsis". [SITD] shows an enraged kind of energy that will make shake many dancefloors. In a similar style we also get songs like "Zodiac" and "Redemption". These pieces are pure adrenaline and seem to reveal that this band comes back in an annihilating way. It feels like a real smack in the face and that's exactly what we want to get from dark electro bands. But [SITD] will never become the stereotypical 'endzeit'-clone. "Rot" has much more to offer like quieter pieces. Some of these songs are quite well crafted as well and I'm here referring to the "Rot V1.0"-cut. Somewhere in between their 'hard' and 'soft' side comes a song like "Pharmakon". This is a little jewel in song writing and especially in the remarkable sound constructions and efficient bleeps. [SITD] seems to have found the golden path where great melodious parts are meeting with harsh percussion, icy bleeps and spooky distorted vocals. Next to the normal edition of the album "Rot" will be also released as a limited dcd including some extra songs. This will be for sure a nice bonus to the "Rot"-release!
