Drev is the solo-project of Jess Hewitt (who you maybe know from Drifting In Silence). Hailing from Boston Drev brings a quite hard and explosive cocktail, which can be easily linked to bands like NIN and M. Manson. There’s a similar kind of American power in the guitars while the mixture with electronics is quite typical as well. Drev brings a pure power outburst with some bombastic fragments and a quite melodious way of singing. It might sound like a contradiction, but it works well. The “Starving”-song here serves as a real good example while at the same time we’re speaking about one of the main songs from the album. “Model” is another powerful extract. A few gothic influences appear now and then, which brings the link with M. Manson to life. All tracks aren’t from the same powerful level, but these cuts are definitely the best ones. “Sirens” is another brute and merciless piece that will please the fans of heavy crossover. The Americans really remain experts in this kind of crossover!
