Skold vs. KMFDM - Skold vs. KMFDM (cd Kmfdm Records/Danse Macabre Records)

This transatlantic collaboration was produced in 100 days, by exchanging data between KommandoZentrale - Hamburg (KMFDM) and The Unabomber Shack Studio - California (Skold). Sascha Konietzko needs no introduction. We all know him as the mastermind/vocalist/audio-engineer/composer/remixer/producer of KMFDM. Tim Skold is ex-guitarist of Marilyn Manson/Shotgun Messiah/Skold/... and previous member of KMFDM and MDFMK. The album has 22 tracks in total (every song has an interlude soundscape) and opener "Why Me?" hits you directly hard in the face with the very high danceable beats and synths (old Front 242 "No Shuffle" style). "Bloodsport" has that typical powerful KMFDM touch, perfect as soundtrack for any action-game or movie and is one of the best tracks for sure! "Love Is Like" was played in the episode "Bounce" of the American tv-show "NCIS", (which is currently the #1 tv-show in the USA with more than 18 million weekly viewers, aired in more than 190 countries worldwide!) and also appeared on the "NCIS Soundtrack". Both tracks "It's Not what" and "Gromky" reminded me of earlier work of Manson. This album brings a lot of electronic high quality mayhem to the rivetheads and will be remembered as one of the best side-projects KMFDM has ever done!
