Industrial Music CDs at Storming The Base

It took more than 5 years for Whispers In The Shadow to achieve and launch a complete new album. After the last album “Everything You Knew Was Wrong” we only get a live-album in 2007 titled “A Cold Night”. Frontman Ashley Dayour was for sure very busy as a live guitarist for L’Âme Immortelle, but it probably doesn’t explain this long absence. But there are absences and silences, which seem to be very prolific. “Into The Arms Of Chaos” is the kind of album that will directly please to the heaviest lovers of old guitar-wave music. While some of the vocal parts remind me of Bauhaus the guitar playing sometimes evoke New Model Army to me. Produced by the famous John A. Rivers (Dead Can Dance, Clan Of Xymox ao) this new opus got a real great treatment in final mixing and sound quality. A few songs are quite long in duration, but they always keep your attention. That’s definitely a reference and an illustration of the high quality and potential of this album. This is demonstrated by the great musical works, “Babylon Rising (Part 1)” and “Babylon Rising (Part 2)”. Both pieces are absolutely well crafted with implicit guitar riffs, harsh vocals and a global hypnotic feeling. Another remarkable cut is the more Bauhaus-like “Killing Time”. Next to the album we also get an interesting dvd including a concert recorded in February 2008 in Vienna and an interview from more than 30 minutes. This is a way to get a bit more information about Whispers In The Shadow and the content of their songs. A remarkable documentary about this ‘other’ Austrian band.
