Dead Industrie is the solo-project of the American artist John Fink Jr. His “Distant Whispers” album is a pure atmospheric soundtrack release he took meticulously care to detail with numerous sounds. This sonic puzzle of soundscapes leads us through sounds of nature (field recordings?) and industrial plus ambient impressions (like echoing cellar sounds and other dark humming effects). The darkest depths of the inner world have been explored leading to some real mysterious sound explorations (cf. title track). 2 tracks further the atmosphere becomes less dark, but evolves into a more astral dimension (cf. “The Flow Of Pain”) till Dead Industrie dives again in the most disturbing depths of his musical brain (cf. “Through The Aperture”). Notice by the way that the “Flow Of Pain”-tracks were composed together with Testphasen Negativ. “Distant Whispers” offers a kind of alternative to the usual and typical dark ambient compositions.
