Since 2004, Tony Young, aka Autoclav1.1 has had numerous successes including two EP’s, two albums, and more recently a remix album. Fusing orchestral compositions and IDM with flashes of industrial and modern electronica, Autaclav1.1 is gaining a reputation for pulling on the deepest of human emotions with a variety of melodies and real-time instrumentation frequently apart by paranoid beat work and broken rhythmical structures. Opening with “‘Casually Losing Selected Memories” immediately reveals that the emphasis has been placed more on heart rendering piano sections. The introduction of more organic instruments is thrown into the mix with a splash of guitars and natural drum sounds. “The Essential Condition” illustrates the thrilling combinations of natural drums and IDM electronica. The album includes a guest appearance from Jamie of ESA (Electronic Substance Abuse) in the song “All Black Spirals”, injecting the not so relevant song structures with a heavy guitar riff. Dave Pybus from Cradle Of Filth added some bass guitar on “Hell Is The Face Of Love”, and highlights the diversity and willingness of Tony to work within different musical scopes. All these nods to other musical genres add a new dimension altogether, displaying a maturity and growth that we have come to expect with each release. (NOA:8)NOA.
