The Canadian DYM (Death to Young Modern) has been set up since 2001. After several self-released material they now joined NoiTekk. Next comes the official debut-cd of DYM and this release seems to announce the resurrection of the NoiTekk label. That’s for sure very good news for all dark electro fans. Originally influenced by some of their famous compatriots (FLA, Skinny Pyppy) DYM for sure might remind you of the earlier work of those bands. The first songs of “The Invilid” are really hard and devastating. Especially the powerful “Autonomy Of The Will” will serve as perfect dancefloor food. The dark dance vibes have been pushed to the extreme, but other cuts like “EBGM” and “NeuWorldBrave” are quite cool as well! The rough vocals and typical dark tunes mixed with a hard hitting beat are simply amazing. Nothing really new, but well-crafted ‘endzeit’-electronics. From the 5th track on DYM sounds like they’re taking a breath, losing a bit of their power and getting into more atmospheric dark electronics. The songs remains pretty danceable, but they here lead us through a softer part of their creation. One of these songs, which is the title song reminds me to Decoded Feedback and that’s for sure a reference for much fans! Let’s say that for a first official album, “The Invilid” shows some real potential in a few songs! DYM is for sure a band to keep an eye on!
