“v2” is the logical step coming after the “v1”-album. Set up by Clint M. Sand (known from Cut.Rate.Box and Mono Chrome) and Jeff Ito, this project explores fascinating electronic fields. Defining the sound of Synnack as experimental would be just a bit too easy. The experimental side of Synnack is for sure one of their main parts, but they’re definitely digging deeper in the electronic sound universe. Adding industrial elements and other drum’n’bass elements they also enter ambient fields. The result is quite complex, but exciting. Some songs might remind you of Substanz T, which is more than a simply reference! Just pay some attention for the “The Locative”-cut and you’ll maybe get the link with Substanz T. In a different way they also jump on a heavier and more powerful style with the explosive “Nauvoo”-track. The industrial lovers will get some stuff to move to with the Dive-esque -but more elaborated- “Her Room”. The atmospheric and more ambient side of “v2” has been illustrated on the fascinating, but quieter “Ochun”. Synnack finally ends in a kind of noise approach with the torturing “Ants In The Water”. “v2” offers an amazing arsenal of influences referring to different styles, but they’ve been brought together in a quite coherent and cool album!
