Pedro Inf is a Portuguese musician releasing here his debut-album. I would say that this musician has a real own approach his music. He started with the creation of his own effects, computers and programs to next compose music where he wanted to avoid the current output of electronic and post industrial music. This artist wants to go back to some real pioneers of electronic music like Coil, Test Dept, Aphex Twin ao. I’m not sure that “S/T” will convince all fans of the aforementioned bands, but Pedro Inf for sure gets a sound with a different approach. The songs move from 80s experimental electronics to minimal techno forms. These influences and sound are rather respectable and referential while several songs feature a real potential! The most experimental part of this album reveals a few attention grabbers like “Crazy BBB” and “TRTRTRTRTRTR”. Both songs please me for the great production in effects and vocals. There’re only a few vocals on the album and they definitely come closer to an extra sound or instrument than to usual vocals. Another interesting piece is the electro-experimental “Zarthoven”. In the minimal techno vein, “Deep Night” is a real cool piece. Pedro Inf brings us back to some real good 80s analogue electronic vibes while for a debut-cd it’s a real cool surprise!
