PG for sure belongs to the Belgian electronic history, which started in the 80s. While being considered as a pioneer of electronic music the influence of their music never got a high impact on the next generations. While PG has been often linked to Front 242 (being produced by P. Codenys and Daniel B.) they remain in the shadow of most of the Belgian pioneers. After years of hibernation, the brothers Pierre and Jean-Marc Pauly brought their brainchild back on the rails, releasing with "Rosary" their 2 nd album in history. The album is a kind of faithful emulation of the past cold-wave roots of the band. The mix of guitar parts and electronic structures resulted in a rather experimental release. "Rosary" became a kind of offspring between old 80s formations like Trisomie 21, Sigmund Und Sein Freund and even The Young Gods. The song "The stutter" is in my opinion what this come back has the best to offer; a rather cold sound driven with some furious breakbeat-like rhythmic. The album features 15 songs and 15 kind of intermezzo's entitled "Rosary" and numbered from 1 till 15. 2 more things to mention are first the production and additional sounds by Patrick Codenys (again) and second the rather poor vocals. We can't really consider this album as a real great comeback, but it will possibly please to the unconditional lovers of 80s bands! www.sleepwalking.be (DP:6)DP.
