You maybe know this American project from contributions to the famous “Endzeit Bunkertracks 2”- and “Interbreeding 4”-compilations or yet from the co-released split ep with Caustic. “Meta” sounds to me to a sort of Autechre goes industrial! Endif doesn’t really compose the most accessible form of electro-industrial music, but likes to spice the writing with an experimental touch. This way some of the songs become decomposed resulting into complex tracks. It ruins the danceable side for a while, but “Meta” still features more classical dark electro pieces like “Ashes” and the groovier “Antilife”. The Autechre comparison stands on “Error” while the familiar “Sleeper cell” is another song in this genre! Endif sounds like uncompromised, original complexity… or complex originality???
