Michelle Belanger - Blood of angels (cd Monolith Graphics)Posted on 10/04/07
Michelle Belanger is first of all a writer who has already published several books about vampire themes. Next she’s an artistically trained singer with a soprano voice who already contributed to releases and songs of bands like URN and Nox Arcana. Last, but not least, she now presents her official debut-album for which she got the help of the members of Nox Arcana. The music has a strong medieval taste, which might remind to Qntal for a couple of songs. The main difference is that M. Bellanger digs a bit more into dramatic impressions, which is probably due to the soundtrack influence of Nox Arcana in the writing of this opus. M. Belanger is a talented soprano vocalist who adds an ethereal side to her work. “Blood of angels” became a quite of magic and bewitched piece of music. The “Blood of angels” and “Children of heaven”-songs are both excellent extracts of this dark epos. The “Ella sheena”-song contains a vague tribal influence bringing certain diversity to the writing and therefore my personal song. The last cut is an interesting “Club mix” of “Children of heaven”. This is a remarkable debut! www.monolithicgraphics.com (DP:8)DP.
