Final Selection - Heading For Graceland (EPCD Black Flames)

Probably one of Black Flames’ most alluring artists together with Lethargy, Final Selection return with an 11-track EPCD divided into 2 parts. The “Daydreams part” presents 5 tracks of moody electro wave hovering between dark synth pop and melancholic goth pop. Sort of Diary Of Dreams going synth pop. An interesting melange of sounds and feelings that works pretty well on songs like “Jupiters Child” or yet the more upbeat and splendid “White Star”. Part 2, entitled “Nightshades” presents some 6 remixes offering very diverse interpretations of the band’s repertoire. Amongst these, I will highlight the bombastic and hard-kicking mix by Aslan Faction who gave a totally new perspective and texture to “I Never Wanted More” and above all the Z Prochek de-structuring and innovative version of “Tears”. Other lined-up remixers include Namnambulu, ESR, Rector Scanner, MC1R… (TSF:7) TSF.
