Is this art? According to Rammstein singer Till Lindemann it isPosted on 18/12/13
What is art and what is not art. The discussion is as old as the moment the word entered men's vocabulary. And it doesn't look like it that the discussion will disappear fast. Especially when you see the works that Rammstein singer Till Lindemann is presenting as being art at the Holger John Gallery in Dresden.
So what kind of stuff did he create? Well, here is what Bild found out. The first one is a putto with a cut off penis in its hands, named 'Hans im Glück'. Another piece is the 'Feuer frei' one showing a bum with a gun up its ass.
Art? Or just shocking for the sake of shocking? Fans aren't really sure. Some, like the Hamburg based Elie Volker aren't really convinced. Elie: "It's absolute rubbish, he gets away with it because he is the Rammstein singer. I guess fans will be fans and swallow anything they get presented." Others find it art, such as the Berlin art student Yello Pisten who describes it as "the ultimate expression of universal paganism". Right...
So, what do you think of it?
