Siouxsie plays live again after 5-year hiatus, but where is that new album?Posted on 08/04/13
Playing live at the Yoko Ono-curated Meltdown festival at London's Southbank Centre (between June 14 and June 23) is former Banshees frontwoman Siouxsie. Also playing at the event will be Marianne Faithfull, Patti Smith, Iggy & The Stooges, Boy George, and both Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. For Siouxsie - who will play live on June 15 at the Royal Festival Hall - it will be her first live set in 5 years.
Siouxsie Sioux' last studio album was the 2007 LP "MantaRay", also her first full-length solo studio album after a 30 year music career as the frontwoman for Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Creatures. Since then it has been rather quiet around her although she announced in 2011 that there was "plenty more new material to come" including a new album. The fact that W14, a label that was heralded as the save harbor for many 80s artists, entered a coma status, didn't really help matters.
