80sObscurities presents: Nash The Slash - 'Swingshift'

This 80sObscurities series was founded by DJ Rexx Arkana to showcase old, often unknown or forgotten acts and tracks from the decade when electronic music was truly the new wave. Rexx Arkana has been a club/radio DJ and promoter since the mid-80s and headlined festivals on several continents and currently holds a residency at DEFCON, NYC's current longest-running weekly scene party. He is also the founder and lyricist of Brudershaft and one half of harsh electro act FGFC820.

We've reached the end of the first week of our "12 Days of Christmas" celebration here at 80sObscurities, where I've turned over the decks to various guest hosts so that they might share some of their own musical memories from the decade that time forgot.

Today's track is another from someone who was actually there, an 80s musical artist who has found his own project profiled here in the past, Psyche's Darrin C. Huss. "Distorted drum machines, Korg Handclaps and polyrhythms. Screeching electric mandolin played by a figure in Invisible Man bandages.

This sonic delight with its twisted S & M lyrics and foreboding psychedelic atmosphere made a lasting impression on two young Canadian brothers just beginning to find their way with their own Horror oriented soundscapes. Of course there are many other great singles from our Canadian hero, but this one has it all. Therefore Psyche's choice cut for you is this one.
