Is the scene dead? Surely not after having heard the 'Fearless' debut by LegendPosted on 28/11/12
There are always a few pearls hidden somewhere in the thousands of releases that arrive in our offices each year. The Toronto based label Artoffact Records undoubtedly is one of the labels that delivered us the most recent treasure with the new project Legend.
Legend is the Icelandic Reykjavik based duo Krummi Björgvinsson and Halldór A Björnsson. The band's debut album "Fearless" will be out on CD on December 11th and it beats the crap out of many scene bands. This is the kind of band that pumps new life in the scene for sure and it again proves that Scandinavia is the frontrunner of good music.
However, Krummi Bjorgvinsson is not exactly a new kid on the block, he has a punk-rock act Minus and worked work with Daniel Agust of GusGus on the alt-country band Esja. But with Legend the duo has managed mixing all that in one adding lots of electronic elements. This could well be the result when you'd put Project Pitchfork in the studio together with Martin Gore and Trent Reznor.
Check the "Sister" video after the jump. Recommended, you can order it at Storming The Base.
