BBC Radio 2 to broadcast Philharmonic concert with Pet Shop Boys

Good news if you didn't secure yourself a ticket for the Pet Shop Boys' BBC Philharmonic concert on December 5th. The full concert will be broadcast the very next day on BBC Radio 2 on December 6th.

The concert takes place at the MediaCityUK in Salford, where the Pet Shop Boys will perform a one-off concert of their greatest hits for BBC Radio 2. Jo Whiley presents the show, which will feature a tribute to Alan Turing, the ‘father of computer science'.

Note that even if you got a free audience ticket, the system still works on a first-come first-served basis on the day itself. So even if you get a ticket it does not guarantee you entry. The reason is simple, since not all people use their free ticket, the BBC are forced to distribute more tickets than there are places to ensure that they have a full studio audience.

In further news, the third single released from Elysium will be "Memory of the Future". It will be released in December 2012 and is the follow-up to "Leaving" which was released on 15 October.
