In the past couple of days an online frenzy has broken loose as the official Depeche Mode Facebook page posted a still taken from the "Policy of truth" video accompanied by the line: "Never again / Is what you swore". Many (ten thousands of fans actually) have interpreted this as a hint that Alan Wilder will indeed be rejoining Depeche Mode in order to work on the band's new upcoming album.
We were kinda puzzled as well by this post - was it just a way to boost the band's Facebook edgerank or was there more going on? We decided to try and get hold of Alan Wilder. Alas, the man was unavailable for comment.
So will the miracle that every Depeche Mode fan has been hoping for really happen? Only Depeche Mode and Alan Wilder know for sure.
For the moment Alan Wilder has other things on his mind though as he is busy promoting his soon to be released Blu-ray "A Strange Hour in Budapest". The release is getting quite some feedback from fans, with a first limited edition even literally selling out in just a few hours.
Directed and edited by Attila Herkó, the second (Red) edition of "A Strange Hour In Budapest" will be released in a classic black case with twin-option reversible cover art. This means you can change the outside artwork just by turning the cover, see also the mock-up below.
Important to know, ALL on-line pre-orders for this set (officially out on August 31) will be dispatched on July 21st, including an exclusive code to receive downloadable extras such as a PDF art booklet with extra spreads, a soundtrack sampler, Recoil 'live' photographs and project wallpapers. Grab it now!
For those who take things all too serious... you're on candid camera.
