Dive is no morePosted on 03/05/12
The guitar pop act Dive (never heard of it you say? we neither) have changed their name to DIIV "out of respect for the original Dive", the Belgian industrial band formed in the early 1990s by Dirk Ivens. You wouldn't think this is worth a mention, but it was for Pitchfork, which thus gives the original Dive a nice platform.
The band apparently is not concerned about the change in name so they say in Pitchfork: "A name is nothing, I don't really give a fuck what the band is called. I originated this project in a bedroom with no internet and didn't know it would ever leave."
Perhaps it's indeed not all that bad that they changed name then.
