Merzbow returns with 'Lol Pop'Posted on 16/11/11
Out on Rustblade is "Lop Lop" on which Merzbow takes a new step from his recent releases and focuses on manipulating sounds and harsh beats designed to represent a new face of his treatment. Says the label: "The synths and guitars scream and sing in a manner that allows them to be heard through all the oppressive noise. This often comes back to ferocious power electronics sounds displaying clearly the anger of this new release."
The CD will be packaged in a special paper pack with an original painting by Masami Akita and Alessia Catanuto.
The release holds 3 tracks: "Canaanda", "My voice at the pace of drifting clouds" and "EQ". Note that a special 2CD box set - limited to 299 copies - is out as well holding a bonus CD and some gadgets. The bonus disc holds 3 extra tracks: "Madoromi", "Sujata & Asoka" and "2 Guitars".
The material was recorded and mixed at Munemihouse in the period March-July 2011.
Here's a trailer for the release.
