(Photo by Vincent Dufrane) The Recoil tour turns more and more into a real eclectic Mute tribute set with Alan Wilder's newest compilation "Selected" as the central theme. Following hot on the heels of their recent performance in Berlin, Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones are to appear in Rome as well. The Rome show takes place at the Circolo degli artisti on 10th April as part of Recoil's "Selected Events" tour. Miller and Jones will be performing under the name 'Sunroof'. The set will most probably be different to the one they did in Berlin where they gave a take on the 1983 Depeche Mode album "Construction Time Again".

Daniel Miller is the man who founded Mute Records and he also has a history of his own music projects - as The Normal and as Silicon Teens - which both existed in the very early days of the Record label. The Normal had two massive cult hits with "Warm Leatherette" and "TVOD" and laid the grounds for what was to become the leading indie label for electronic and experimental music. Along with Alan Wilder and Gareth Jones, Daniel Miller formed the production team behind all of the early Depeche Mode albums up to and including "Black Celebration".
Side-Line was at the Belgian show last night with a very strong Olivia Louvel as opening act presenting her second solo album "Doll divider" out as a digital release on Optical Sound and Ototoi Music. The whole evening was nothing less but stunning. Especially the sound is exactly what one would expect from such sound wizards as Wilder and Kendall. An interview is in the making and will be posted next week...
