Chris Vrenna (Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails) dives into the DJ circuit

Chris Vrenna, best known for his period as drummer with Nine Inch Nails from the "Pretty Hate Machine" through "Downward Spiral" eras and as the current keyboardist for Marilyn Manson is set to tackle the DJ circuit as well. He will be appearing at Tracks Nightclub in Denver, Colorado on March 12, 2010 at the popular Deathwish night presented by Club Hellbound. Vrenna will be available for select DJ nights throughout 2010. He will be playing a mix of industrial, electro, and cyber-punk.

Vrenna first appeared on the Chicago industrial music scene in the mid- to late-'80s as a member of Die Warzau. Before long he hooked up with Trent Reznor, who was then in the process of recording his debut album, "Pretty Hate Machine". This was the beginning of a eight-year partnership, during which time Vrenna remained the only permanent member of Reznor's band. In 1994 Chris was awarded a Grammy for his live performance with Nine Inch Nails at Woodstock for the song "Happiness Is Slavery".

Despite taking a break to temporarily join Stabbing Westward, Vrenna also worked with Reznor on Marilyn Manson's first three albums and most recently produced Manson's album "The High End of Low". Vrenna has toured behind the kit for KMFDM to Gnarls Barkley.

By 1996, Vrenna found himself working with acts such as Rob Zombie and Skinny Puppy. His skills as a programmer have been utilized by Hole and Guns'n'Roses, and Vrenna has also worked with Pigface, Killing Joke, Jack off Jill, Josh Wink, Megadeth, Metallica, and 16 Volt. Vrenna also continues to be a remixer being tabbed by acts such as U2, David Bowie, Slipknot, KMFDM, Revolting Cocks, Lords of Acid, Butthole Surfers and countless other acts.
