Side-Line announces results 2008 voting best magazine and best label
5557 people voted this year for our 2008 edition of best label and magazine. There's free banner space going to the first best scoring 4 labels with a value of 200 EUR per banner which equals 1 full month display on Side-Line. We also picked out 1 label which was not nominated this year but which will be included in next year's voting and which will also get a 1 month banner on Side-Line: Nilaihah Records! Congratulations Kristy!

The label Top 20 was a close run between Alfa Matrix, SPV, Out Of Line and Metropolis Records but was won by Alfa Matrix records. As far as magazines goes, with almost half of the votes, Side-Line is one again chosen as the most popular magazine from the scene. I guess we must be doing something good after all :).

Again thanks to all of you for voting and we hope you all had a jolly good New Year's Eve ! For next year the voting will be organised completely differently taking in account some correct comments from the Side-Line community. We also hope that you have been able to enjoy the reduction codes we have sent to all those who voted. Thanks to Music Non Stop, Infrarot and Isotank for their collaboration !

So what is coming up for 2009? Well, as announced, a complete new design with less clutter. The launch should be announced in the next two months. We will also focus more on interviews with people behind the scenes, so that you can all learn some more on how things are run, the reality behind a release, production and mastering of albums etc. Side-Line will also enlarge it partnerships with even more sites using our content, which means for the labels: extra ways people will read our news and this for no extra effort at all, we do it for you. Let's drink to a new year of news from our dearest scene which unfortunately still is facing huge troubles to survive.

The editorial staff from Side-Line will also be developing and testing some extra services and contact points for the Side-Line news in the next weeks. We are sure that these will bring extra readers and will help spreading the word to the music we all like.

We always accept new staff members, so if you can do it better, go ahead...

I bet side-line would also win its own "Best Writing Good in English" award.

no, not at all. The first : we are organizing the voting, thus more loyal readers will vote for us. The second, no, because Alfa Matrix, SPV and Out Of Line are close to eachother in every voting that is being organised, see the results for the dac, audioglobe etc. Pure facts.

The results are 100% correct and honest. If you doubt this, then please go elsewhere.

So not at all suspicious that Side-Line wins its own best magazine poll, and that the label to which is affiliated wins best label.

And to be precise, everyone could vote for as many labels he/she wanted, which is the most democratic way to do things.

Because there were more than 20 labels / 10 magazines to choose from... very obvious :).

I don't understand the percentages. Normally the cumulative amount is 100%

So you don't need to make a magazine to win the magazine award?

Pretty phoney, guys.
