Fryars have got Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan to sing on their debut album "Dark Young Hearts" after a chance studio encounter. Fryar's Ben Garrett told NME that the Depeche Mode singer contributed vocals to a track called "Visitor", after walking in while producer and ex-Clor guitarist Luke Smith was working on the song in his New York studio. Luke Smith is currently also working with Ben Hillier on Depeche Mode's album. The singer apparently liked the song and asked to sing on it. Gahan would also possibly be joining the band live on stage but no concrete plans are known yet. The track is set to be made available as a download on www.myspace.com/fryars ahead of the album's release next year.
And speaking of collaborations, here is Dave Gahan playing with Primal Scream on "Loaded" at the Reading Festival in 1994.
