New album A-ha's Magne Furuholmen released and sold out on 300 copies only
The increased difficulties within the music market has caused some weird consequences from time to time. For example, A-ha's Magne Furuholmen just released a very special 10" vinyl picture disc edition of his new album, "A Dot Of Black In The Blue Of Your Bliss" as an exclusive direct purchase from his website. Restricted to just 300 physical copies at a price of 100 euro, it sold out in pre-sales after a mere two days.

The package consists of hand-painted original sleeves, all 300 covers are part of a larger work which Furuholmen created in Oslo on January 23rd and then dismantled into 300 parts. Each cover has been autographed and will be accompanied by a CD containing all the songs, a poster of the full original painting, and a documentary charting the artwork's creation. If you couldn't get hold of a copy, don't worry; the six new tracks are available as free, low quality, and legal download on www.myspace.com/magnef . As Side-Line is one of the 300 lucky owners, expect a review soon!

I was one of the lucky 300 buyers and I can say that Magne is a modern day genius in both musical and artistic talent. The artwork, along with the vinyl picture disc is framed and wall mounted in my hallway at home. I also framed the large poster of his finished 300 album covers and I can easily find my sleeve among the 300. As far as the tracks are concerned, the title track A dot of black in the blue of your bliss is excellent as well as the album in general. What a steal for 100 euro plus 30 euro packing and postage. Thanks Magne! Long Live Great Music! Declan in Ireland. www.partynonstop.net
