Ex-Smith Morrissey has told BBC News that he will record a new album later this year. A release should be expected somewhere in 2008 if Morrissey makes it in the studio later in November. All of the material would already have been written and completely ready for production. Morrissey who currently labelless has been offered a deal from Warners, but has yet to announce whether he has accepted the offer or not. In related news, the news as if Morrissey would have been approached during the course of the summer by a consortium of promoters with a $75,000,000 offer to tour in 2008 and/or 2009 under the Smiths' name together with Johnny Marr is false. The news was denied by several people close to Morrissey.
