In February we posted that Junkie XL was no longer signed to Road Runner Records and that all albums would from now on be self-released. Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg seems to have changed his mind rather quickly so it seems now as he just signed a recorddeal with Artwerk, the new label started up by Video game publishing giant Electronic Arts who for this new venture teamed up with Nettwerk One Music to establish a new music label based in Los Angeles. The new label intends to sign both unknown and established artists around the world for recording, publishing and distribution deals. Electronic Arts intends to push new talent via its games, something the publisher has been doing until now, but without having the dedicated music label to follow through and push the artists careers forward. Junkie XL has previously worked with Electronic Arts on "Madden NFL '07" and "Need for Speed: Carbon". Junkie XL is the first artist signed to the label.
