The English post-punk group Echo & The Bunnymen, formed in Liverpool in 1978, announce in a posting on www.bunnymen.com that they have signed a new record contract with Korova / Warners records. It is not the first time the band is signed to the label whith whom the band enjoyed most of their major success. In a reaction Echo & The Bunnymen said:
- "We are chuffed to bit's about returning to our old roost, it's fantastic to be working on the album and having just resigned to 'Korova / Warners', the new album is going to be amazing and we can't wait to get it finished."
The group's current lineup is comprised of McCulloch and Sergeant along with the live members Simon Finley (drums), Stephen Brennan (bass), Gordy Goudie (guitar), and Ceri James (keyboards). The most recent release from the band is an updated version of their 1985 "Songs to Learn and Sing" compilation released in 2006 under the name "More Songs to Learn and Sing". The new compilation was issued in two versions, a 17 track single CD and a 20 track version with a DVD featuring 8 videos from their career.
