The Police reunion tour concert tickets sell out in just minutesPosted on 13/03/07
The reunited post punk act The Police still has an avid fanbase. Since concert tickets went up for sale worldwide, shows are getting sold out in just minutes. The worldwide rush for The Police concert tickets is probably due to the appeal the band has to a wide age group making that, after 23 years apart, no one wants to miss out on such a rare chance to see the act perform again. Just to give you an idea, tickets for the first British tour in 24 years by The Police sold out within 30 minutes, yes that's right, 30 minutes. It explains why third party sellers are in for a gold rush these days with prices reaching up to 1000 US$ per ticket on various ticketselling websites. However, there is still some hope for people that have missed out on a gig, as previously announced by Side-Line, extra dates will be added to the tour although this was previously denied by the band's US PR management. In Holland for example an extra date will be available on September 14th while also other venues have received the green light to add an extra date. Still, it is sure that also these extra dates will not be able to fulfill the demand. The current success is not in comparison with the number of albums The Police sold throughout its carreer. Although the band had it's fair share of success with its albumsales, they never reached peeks like we know with popular acts today that easily get to sell over 20 million copies. However, they did get a cult status over the years which will earn them quite a lot more now thanks to this intensive worldwide tour reaching a public that now consists of 3 generations. Or how long term investments seem to remain the best choice alltogether, even in the musicbusiness.
