Throbbing Gristle announce special live events to celebrate first new album in over 25 years
Throbbing Gristle (Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson, Genesis P. Orridge and Cosey Fanni Tutti) have revealed details of special live events in 2007, following the release of their first studio album in over 25 years, "Part Two - The Endless Not", to be released on Industrial / Mute on 2nd April 2007. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 2007 Throbbing Gristle will return to the Institute of Contemporary Art, London ( www.ica.org.uk ) for a series of public recording sessions. Each session will be approximately two hours long and limited to 140 people per session. Ticket holders will receive a special limited edition poster commemorating their attendance of these sessions. These groundbreaking sessions see Throbbing Gristle return, 30 years on, to the scene of their 'Prostitution Show' and will allow the audience a unique opportunity to follow the previous working methods of TG in the recording of "Heathen Earth" (1980). The sessions signify a return to the ICA, the place where TG officially launched in October 1976 with a performance that famously resulted in questions in parliament and the late Tory MP Sir Nicholas Fairbairn dubbing them 'Wreckers Of Civilisation'. Throbbing Gristle will also perform twice and co-curate a day at the Donau Festival, Krems, near Vienna, Austria on 29th and 30th April on a bill that will include Alan Vega and Phill Niblock amongst others. The festival runs over two weekends and TG will be performing on the second weekend. Both events will be performed with a full quadrophonic sound system. And for collectors, don't forget, the initial pressing of "Part Two - The Endless Not" will include one of a series of four different TG Totemic Gifts in either copper, bone, rubber or wood. Each one, an edition of 1000, was handmade in Thailand under Peter Christopherson's supervision.
