Announced by Side-Line a while ago, denied by the official website, we can now confirm that the UK company Live Here Now ( www.liveherenow.co.uk ) will be releasing live recordings of 50 dates on the band's current world tour. Asked for a reaction two days ago the company did not want to deny the news but didn't want to confirm it either. We however got confirmation this morning. The releases will be released as limited edition CD's as well as digital downloads. The first recordings will be made at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California on Thursday 27th April. Live Here Now will start pre-sales for the USA concerts at any moment today, so keep an eye on their website. The two-disc sets will only be available for a limited period of time and will be packaged with deluxe artwork featuring new and exclusive photographs by Anton Corbijn. European pre-sales will be announced shortly. In a reaction Live Here Now informed us this evening that "there will be a combination of festivals and stadium shows recorded and released in Europe". The news means the end for bootleggers so it seems. Considering previous live CD sales chances are that at the end of the tour a special set might be released holding the best moments live. If not, 50 sets will be a pretty expensive investment for the die-hards ... UPDATE: The pre-sales have now started !

Posted by: popozuda819 on May 19, 06 | 4:05 pm I've been a loooong-time DM fan and have seen them live 10 times; often, these were multiple shows on the same tour and you guys are right: they do need switch it up a bit. Besides, I live in Northern California, and I heard they were blown off the stage by one of the opening bands at the Shoreline Amphitheatre show. |
Posted by: jbm009 on Apr 29, 06 | 2:48 am DM are one of those bands that are really only worth seeing once on a tour - the only time they change the set is when Martin sings a different song. I really don't know how Dave can sing the same songs, in the same order night after night. Look at REM, The Cure, even Duran Duran change their sets up pretty much all tour long. I mean DM really need to think about adding some really rare stuff into the sets , 'Leave in Silence' is a good start - but c'mon they need to stop playing the same boring singles every tour. |
Posted by: Side-Line on Apr 21, 06 | 7:08 pm Wait until the end of the tour, you might just see a surprise release popping up, more on this later on. |
Posted by: snewzki on Apr 21, 06 | 5:55 pm Dead Can Dance did a similar thing on their last tour. The recordings were excellent. |
Posted by: Side-Line on Apr 21, 06 | 11:09 am No, it is different, here the recordings are mastered and produced and sent to you at home resulting in much better quality. |
Posted by: Liquid Synthetic on Apr 21, 06 | 7:12 am They did that with Erasure. |
Posted by: haloed666 on Apr 20, 06 | 7:13 pm Ah, fuck that! 10 years ago I probably would've invested but I've come to my senses. lol |
