U2 to release Zoo TV tour DVD

U2's legendary 1993 Zoo TV tour is getting a DVD release. To be released on September 18, "Zoo TV Live From Sydney" was filmed at the Sydney Football Stadium, Australia by David Mallet. The foottage previously was already available on VHS and since then DVD-r copies were sold allover eBay. For the DVD format release the footage has been upgraded and enhanced and will come with a shipload of extras. A deluxe double set will be made available - next to the normal single DVD version - and will feature the documentaries "Trabantland", "A Fistful Of Zoo TV", bonus live tracks and footage from the "Video Confessional" where audience members would confess their innermost secrets for broadcast on the tour's massive screens. Bernard Van Isacker from Side-Line was one of the people working for the band back then and he recalls: "At the time we were working like mad getting the screens up and running night after night. The band was using 3 sets of screens I believe and during the first shows it became clear that there was a lot of water leaking into the screens. So all had to be reassembled drying all wires and lamps by hand, changing the broken lamps... Madness really... But we made it just on time."
