I've always been super cheesed out when a band of dudes or a solo dude artist is on the cover of his own album(sorry Manson), and I extend the same to female artists. It's almost like the Sarah Palin syndrome. "Hey here's a pretty face, no need to know anything about it, we know you'll buy it" Give me a slick digital cg, trippy photograph, or iconic symbol as a cover any day over actual artists striking a pose on a cd. I think IDM sells - it just depends on who it's marketed to. Marketing IDM to a bunch of terrorbanana fans, yeah, it's no going to sell as well... however, marketing IDM to an IDM crowd (who likely aren't going to care what the band looks like anyway) then, it actually sells quite well from what I understand... I totally agree with this. Her outfits are innovative, her appearance is stylish. A hot woman in industrial means the full package (not only whether she has a nice body shape or so) including the outfit, the make-up etc. I have never seen the band Angelspit live, I just know that they relocated from Australia to Berlin. so we will see about the real-life test...
