Is it just me or does it seriously suck ass! I mean, theres this chick singing on one of the tracks (so far-as I write this I am only on track 7) and then what do my ears get treated to? guitar! Kinda scared me at first, but actually this guitarry track is the only one I'm liking so far. Anyone else's opinions?

They've been using guitars and female vocalists since 2000...this is the third album in which they've done so.
What happened to those old albums? Someone left them back in the 90's. It's called "evolving". Aug 01, 04 | 10:08 am

I thought the very same thing when I first got it. But over time it has turned into one of my favorite albums of the year but I agree with you on the Face the Fear and Cryogenix albums...they were the best two.

Well the last one I bought before this one was Love Kills-I dont remember being as impressed with that one as I had the ones prior, but I dont remember it being as weak as Holy either. Of course I've only played that one twice to this date. Maybe I'll give it another listen some time today and remind myself of what it sounds like
That all said, the only track I ended up liking was track 7, guitars and all. At least the addition of the guitar didnt make it end up sounding weak like the rest. And, yeah, theyre evolving, but you make it sound like its for the better. I guess according to your info, I shouldnt get Mistrust The Angels either? Aug 01, 04 | 6:23 pm

For the better? That's up for debate. Personally, I like "Love Kills" and "Holy" quite a bit, but I only liked one or two tracks from "Mistrust The Angels", an album I can guarantee you won't like if you don't enjoy these other two.

I thought Holy was one of the best ISC releases to date. Some of the tracks didnt sound too far off from previous releases and they seem to have gotten better and better over time. I cant even listen to old stuff like Cryogenix anymore. The new album is great. I cant wait for the remix of it soon!

Yeah, but I find this new direction to be too melodic, monotonous, and weak. Its bland. There are no change-ups, his voice used to have this powerfulness to it-thats what I really loved about it. Now its all gone soft like a limp dick. Of course maybe I'm only talking to the synthie poop and future poop listeners in here so that must be why I'm coming up against so much opposition. They used to be one of the few borderline synthie bands that I cared for, but I guess theyve gone the same crappy road that Lights Of Euphoria have taken. Theyve watered their stuff down so much-its just....bad. LOE's Voices was mediocre at best and their new shit is even worse. Speaking of all this, I am scared to hear the new Das Ich as I hear they have become weak as well, but I dont know yet until I hear it. If they end up going in the same direction as AntiChrist with Lava, theyre gonna lose a fan here

I think Holy is one of the most impressive Cds ever to be relased by ISC, its not monotonous nor weak and the tracks are very much different from each other. Somtimes bands like to change and explore what they can do instead of rehashing the same shit over and over again. Das Ich Lava is completely amazing, it sounds like a cross between Egodram and Antichrist. If you can't appreciate what ISC and Das Ich are doing, that's your loss. You aremissing out on truely great releases and I do not consider myself one of those "synthie" people. Das Ich and ISC only improve over time, so far they have done no wrong. If you want to listen to Cryogenix, then listen to Cryogenix. A good musician likes to go in new directions and not stagnate with one particular style.

Eh, I dont listen to any synth/future pop really. I like alot of harder stuff like Grendel, Wumpscut, etc. Slower stuff like Dishamony, Object, etc. I still thought the ISC was nicely done though. But I can understand you're dislike of the album. I didnt care for it at all at first but it grew on me after time. Some of the lyrics are great as well. Maybe it will grow on ya in time? ISC has alot of potential; dont discount em yet!

For the record, I wasnt dissing Das Ich as I have not heard the new album. I only know that I own AntiChrist, and it is not as powerful as their other stuff and I heard Lava directly compared to AC so thats where my comment comes in. Once I recover from the last eBay binge I went on, I will most likely be picking it up. Of course I see there was no comment on LOE-maybe you agree with me there. This all comes from someone who very rarely crawls up to "the surface" (i.e. Metropolis, Dependant stuff, etc). I listen to mostly oldschool EBM (Klinik, Insekt, Dive, Vomito Negro, Batz Without Flesh), Rhythmic Noise (Config.,Sys, Antigen Shift, Mimetic, Ah Cama-Sotz), mid-90's Coldwave (16 Volt, Cubanate, Clay People, etc), or IDM-ish rhythmical industrial (Flint Glass, Monolith, Oil 10, Celluloid Mata, Black Lung, etc). About the only synth-bands that I listen to that are current are Crocodile Shop, Das Ich, FLA, M&TF, Oneiroid Pychosis, and XMTP. Although I have to admit I kinda lost the feeling I used to have for M&TF. Sorry for the long post

industrialgyrl, here's a link to a nice review of the upcoming Das Ich album to give you some insight as to what it's going to be like. There should still be some hope for you...here's a quote from the review: "Where "Antichrist" veered off into the realms of pop music, there are only hints of it on the "Lava Glut" album."
http://www.releasemagazine.net/Onrecord/ordasichlg.htm And back to ISC. You're right; they've definitely mellowed out. But keep in mind they've been around in some form or another for about 15 years now. After all that time, one would imagine they'd have gotten a lot of their anger out of their systems :). I'm glad they chose this direction, and I like a lot of the harsher stuff music as well. Aug 02, 04 | 8:17 am

Holy = best ISC ever. I mean, I like their older stuff too, but the newest pleases me the most to listen to.

I think this "Holy" cd is okay, but not great, I especially like the songs with the female singers...
