For everyone else, news via http://destroid.com "Destroid have signed with Scanner / Dark Dimensions. For the first time Destroid will present the new album at the upcoming Tour with [:SITD:] and Painbastard, which starts on 22 Sep 07. @dmyer
Glad to hear that! I wish Destroid could have played much more songs, it's really a great project. I recorded a couple of videos here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=C_hrtOiBmuk&feature=PlayList&p=45345F715D297419&index=3 After the problems with the electricity and sound (apparently it was caused by too much beer in the wrong places), the place really exploded for the last encore, when all the bands got up on stage during Devil's Work :) But who the hell poured coffee into Brian's toaster? Not that -I- mind it, but the band room was hell cleaning up >_> Oct 01, 07 | 10:02 am

i guess we all fucked around with the toaster at one point of the night. i know, that we left a mess, but we were all so hyped up after that encore and the great party... I am sorry. but it was just too much fun!!!

Anyhow, not to hijack the thread-but the Planetmyer Lowtech site has been updated. Lots of up to date info now about all projects and activities. http://planetmyer.de/HTML/lowtech.htm Yes I know I am missing H.M.B. I have been meaning to ask Daniel if this is an "active", or "stasis", project so I know where to put it. the funny thing is, that i really tried to get that chorus in "open my eyes" right. but i just couldnt get that high pitched note right. thats why there is this vocoder there now. maybe I should try and use more autotune. it seems common in the industry nowadays... hehe

I was 'pissed off' at dan the man for implying I d\l'ed his new album. I think for a bandwagon jumper like Danny, the music could be classed as 'great' in the context of his effete abilities. On reflection, compared to other music of a similar style, it is simply ok. Oct 20, 07 | 12:06 pm

Destroid is cool because it is a project that most of the songs they make are often catchier and more awesome than the bands they emulate. You know? Taking in influences and then pushing envelopes further.

@Vorb-yes it does, not long now till Side-Line gets swept up.
I do want to settle some of this though. How is Daniel Myer a "bandwagon jumper"? Also I see that DESTROID is being toted everyplace as Daniels new mastermind project but anyone that knows Daniels work would actually realize that he doesn't do all the music. It isn't the same chord structures he usually follows, it's not even the same rhythm structures all the time. there are 3 people in DESTROID, all seemingly bringing in their expertise. Also take note that Daniel wanted to be obscure for "Future Prophecies". He didn't want the band to be launched just under his name and background. Is this the usual action of a "bandwagon jumper". Impure, I think your incredibly full of shit and I am going to enjoy burning down your playhouse.. `michael Oct 20, 07 | 10:48 pm

Sheesh. While I think it's valid to comment on Destroid's vocals, Impure is obviously just out to get Daniel. That's just ridicolously low. Destroid is a great project, and I listen to it more than Haujobb. The soft pop'ish vocals are hard for me to get accustomed to as well, and I've heard other people comment on it after the show here in Copenhagen. But I know Myer knows what he's doing, and I don't think the songs should be otherwise, it's a great album. Oct 22, 07 | 5:03 am

Great show in London. Bought Loudspeaker from the merch table and it's been on constant play ever since - beautiful album. Mourn reminds me of Swedish band "Backlash"'s first album Impetus, which was quite inspiring to me.
English kebabs are the best in the world - but they need to learn to put hummous on them. German ones are impressive but waaay too big/open to eat gracefully. Oct 22, 07 | 7:23 am

German döner kebabs are the bomb! And cheap, too!
Next time you go to WGT, take the tram two or three stops in direction of the city (the stop before the supermarket) from Agra Halle, and check out the small kebab place on the left hand. Definitely the best place to eat, I tend to go there once a day. See you there next year. :P Oct 22, 07 | 8:29 am

honestly there is no good kebab place in leipzig. I mean, I am not very big on kebabs, its more dejans thing. but there is one decent place here on suedplatz. called el amir. its right around the corner where i live, btw. i miss the gyros from bielefeld though. best I ever had, even better than the gyro I had in athens.... hehehe
and thanks for the compliments on the destroid record. we will try to return soon to the stage with a full show. 30 minutes are just not enough!! Oct 22, 07 | 8:37 pm

No way, that place I mentioned is awesome.
If you don't think there's a good kebab place in Leipzig, then you must be used to too high standards. Both quality and quantity is waaaay higher than anything you can get in Denmark. :S Oct 23, 07 | 3:18 am

Holy crap! This entire album is brilliant. I really like:
"Revolution" "As The World Turns" "Bird of Prey" "Friend of Foe (The Betrayal)" "Cover Your Ears" And I just started listening... I should just say it again, "THE WHOLE ALBUM IS BRILLIANT" Obviously the sound of Mr. Myer with a touch of old VNV and And One. Maybe it's the other way around... If you have not already ordered this one, do so NOW! Will be a big once it hits the clubs and radio. Nov 16, 07 | 4:55 pm

That was meant as a pun on a tour event that happened to both of us in a sense a few years ago, i think when you were on tour for the '99 album.
Anyway, you were doing just like the one Toronto date and then going right down to the US. It was a Monday, a work night but I came to see your show irregardless . I just(only) wanted to have a few drinks, watch a few songs, grab a (the damn)shirt and then leave. Then to me the unthinkable happened, I found the merch booth didn't have any Haujobb tour shirts 'cause they had ALREADY been shipped ahead of time to the United States. I did freak in my own little way. Then the next day I found out you were denied at the US border and the tour had to be cancelled and all those shirts were now void in regards to the tour dates printed on the back of them. All I could think was "I would have bought one of those". Nov 16, 07 | 9:24 pm

@dmyer/ will the next haujobb be released on out of line?
Another question/ I have bought a new copy of "polarity" (mine has been too much played to be read correctly) and one question: is that second of silence on the 8th track "demon" something normal (at 3 min 20 nearly) or a problem? Nov 17, 07 | 8:48 am

It says he didn't care for Future Prophecies and that this type of music was pioneered by Bio-Tek? I love J. Sharp and I have all the Bio-Tek releases [he was my labelmate] but I don't get this relation? Destroid to me now seems like a blend if Clear Vision and Polyspace though. The real edge of the first album appears to be missing. Which is weird to me after the whole hand grenade logo revelation. This record is very melancholy.

just got this album in my latest batch of orders. i think its a pretty damn good album and is a welcome addition to my collection.
its a lot more mellow than what i usually listen to, but i rather like that. i read that review from release magazine. seems like the guy who wrote the review took what each member of destroid has achieved musically and expected the combination of them to exponentially raise the bar of electronic music and create an album the likes of which would bring world peace, end poverty, and prolong erections. no wonder he was disapointed. its sad when people can't apreciate a solid piece of aural creativity for what it is. are musicians really expected to reinvent the wheel with each release? @ elbat: you're producing confusion, if you cut my sentences into pieces. The whole sentence is this:
"You’re wrong with it, if you look for a new and modern sounding Electronica/IDM/Ambient-release, for which the Hymen is otherwise an excellent resource for. This one has to be seen as poetry - fine work, keep on the vision of a better world!" The first sentence depends on Hymen as a label, not on that Snog album. And yes, I still think it is a quite satisfying kind of Industrial poetry - Thrussel is one of the best with his social/political-criticism. Dec 06, 07 | 11:34 am

Daniel,
I must say this first and foremost. You are one of the most TALENTED music producers in the music biz PERIOD! You are only second to Jack Dangers (MBM) in MY book. (..;)..) So many great pieces of work under your belt!!! The only person i can think of who would be inducted in the DnB, Industrial and EBM HALL OF FAMES!...Think about that for a minute people... But, I wish you would tour Chicago more often (Home of Industrial-EBM/Wax Trax In the 80's...242...RevCo...etc..) and also..... why not post the LYRICS to both Destroid Records? My Destroid Top 5! 1. As The World Turns 2. Open My Eyes 3. Broken And Abused 4. Denial Of Life 5. Moral Tomorrow is my BDay! Please post the lyrics to make my wish come true! Or if u wish them to be private please email them to me!!! LOL Good Luck! Keep pushing out the tunes to add to my collection...!!! Dec 10, 07 | 8:22 pm

most dance friendly?
I think "As the World Turns", "Friend or Foe", and "Open My Eyes" would haul my sorry ass to the dancefloor and get it groovin'. "Open My Eyes" is also my favorite on the album overall. Dec 10, 07 | 10:44 pm

Guilty before proved innocent.......Actually, I meant the FP CD!
And i'll be honest...I HAVE downloaded some music in the past....and if I like the record I WILL go out and buy it...It's the same as going to your record store and "previewing" it with some headphones..I feel if the record is good...buy it...if not.....delete. Simple...Am I wrong for this? I mean it DOES apply to HARD TO FIND RECORDINGS that are NOT readily accessable or avialible to buy at a store or even online.....I do not steal music..I preview new cd's! So, will Chicago be on your next tour? Dec 11, 07 | 4:36 pm

No need for apologies...it did say BOTH......TBH....I ordered the Loudspeaker CD from COP awaiting my delivery from a ice ravaged and holiday postal service. FP does not have the lyrics in it correct? I know I have the REAL CD somewhere...But, In fact daniel was right ...I am TOO LAZY to search through 1500 cd's...I have a 2 yr old son who tuggs at me during that process...and tries to take them all out to help me...lol..I thinjk the lyrics SHOULD be posted on his official Destroid Website...(my 2¢)

Why do people who hate music review it?
Does Peter Marks even like music at all? There is no review here its a rant, a good review balances the bad with the good. He just goes on a tirade that Destroid is not reinventing the wheel. Never heard the first one and have a difficult time keeping up with all of Daniel's projects, I had to check this out and would agree this would be the top contender for album of the year. BTW: Daniel, I read above that a hip hop project was in the works for you? if so......is Ah Chamber PHX a preview of what to expect? I'm a huge hip hop fan and would love to hear what you can do with a smooth flow? I hear kool keith is always up for a different type of collab. My guess is that record would be sick!!! ;)

nope, ah chamber phx was just with some hip-hop samples. with myer I did some beats for hip-hop artists and released some kind of downtempo track called "brown sugar" its a B-Side for one of my latest 12"es as myer...

Guess I'm the odd one out here (pointing out that the emperor is not wearing any clothes..? he he), but I feel that the review was spot on. And I say that as a huge Myer fan. Haujobb is perhaps my favorite band and Architect is awesome as well. But I just can't get into the latest Destroid album. To be fair, I've only listened to the samples on MusicNonStop, but I've listened to all of them again and again and nothing there stands out at all. Every track sounds bland, boring, trite... :-( It desperately needs something to spice it up.
No, I don't think a band have to reinvent a genre at all, but if everything they do has been done a 100x better by other bands then what's the point? Ironically, their first album, where they actually tried to sound like other bands, was rather good. I'm sure Loudspeaker will outsell any Haujobb album easily, and that's just...sad. Myer deserves the money though, he's ****ing brilliant in my honest opinion. Now please please please release the next Haujobb album! I need my fix! :-S Dec 13, 07 | 7:30 am

I can understand people thinking Loudspeaker is a little bland and boring. And it's definitely not "spicy".
But it's a great album to listen to when you are just chilling in your living room. It's not very original, and it's not that exciting, and even though its general sound isn't really my taste, it's really well made, and after a few listens, the tracks will really get to you. Dec 13, 07 | 8:53 am

I totally get, what everyone is saying, except that peter marks dude. we didnt try to make anything new. but we also didnt try to make it boring. we tried to write songs, personal stories. something, that its with a soul. the music was not top priority here. its a tool. and no, destroid will not outsell haujobb. its still too weird for the most part. i dont know how, i dont know why. but thats what it is. i guess, its just me, again, hahaha

To me.....when I first heard Loudspeaker I was expecting more of a FP sound..(the Samples, Harder edged synths and distorted vocals and beats.....)I think Loud is a tad softer.....Just a tad...I just wished another exorcist/kill bill unexpected type sample would have been used......because when I heard FP for the first time.....I was blindsided!!!...Loud didn't catch me by surprise.

This is a great album. I love how eclectic the songs are. To me, the album has straight synthpop to EBM to harder EBM. Also, I really like the ballad, "Bittersweet Fate," with its whistle sound and guitars. I was surprised that it wasn't as hard as "Future Prophecies," but I really dig that "Loudspeaker" is in the same vein as Clear Vision's "Deception" and Cleaner's "Solaris."
Speaking of guitars and as mentioned in this thread, I like the use of the guitars in this album. The guitar is awesome in the chorus for "Open My Eyes." It kind of reminds me of the guitar sound in some of Iris' songs in "Wrath," particularly "No One Else to Lose." The guitar part at the end of "Ruins" reminds me of the bass guitar part that Peter Hook uses so very well for New Order and for his side-projects, Revenge and Monaco. It's too bad that "Ruins" is the edit version on the album because the song ends too soon. I would've loved to have heard the longer original version because that last minute of the song is awesome with that backing synth choral part and that Peter Hook-esque guitar part. Of course, the chorus is freaking awesome. I also like the And One sounds on "Run and Hide" and "As the World Turns." Furthermore, questions about samples were brought up in this thread. What sample is used in "Revolution"? The one sample that goes, "Retinal testing can detect the presence of contacts or dyes." My favorites are: Let Me Leave, Run and Hide, Forever, Only A Vision, Bittersweet Fate, Open My Eyes, Ruins, and Mourn. Even for a guy, I dig soft, relationship type songs like "Mourn" and "Let Me Leave." Dec 17, 07 | 3:20 pm

The celebration of Festivus begins with Airing of Grievances, which takes place immediately after the Festivus dinner has been served. It consists of lashing out at others and the world about how one has been disappointed in the past year. Every household has its own traditions; in one house, the Airing of Grievances consisted of writing the grievances on the fridge in marker
Frank Costanza: And at the Festivus dinner, you gather your family around, and tell them all the ways they have disappointed you over the past year! Frank Costanza: I got a lot of problems with you people! And now, you're gonna hear about it. You, Kruger. My son tells me your company STINKS! George Costanza: Oh, God. Dec 23, 07 | 8:29 pm

While a new season has not yet been confirmed, a New York Post article dated November 5, 2007 mentions that Larry David is considering doing the show for 2-3 additional years. Larry has been quoted several times saying "Curb will run longer than Seinfeld did". In a recent interview with Richard Lewis, he says Larry's tone on the phone is very hyper and energetic. "This usually means he has come up for a story arc for a new season."There was a rumor that Larry wanted Michael Richards (the only main cast member of Seinfeld to not appear on Curb yet) to join next season and joke about his recent controversy. This also sparked rumors of the arc of the show involving a Seinfeld reunion, but Jeff Garlin said that part of the rumor is unlikely. Whether or not Richards is joining is still unknown.

wow that review on Release Magazine is pretty harsh.. I dunno, I dig the CD..there are some synth-sounds here and there that I dont like/dont appeal to me and the ballad-type track isnt my cup of tea but id say its a decent album overall. Theres a nice amount of complexity and melody in it and the production is high-quality.

@Daniel-I'll email you, we have two options with servers:
planetmyer.de & noiseprocess.net So I'll ask Klaus first if we can bog him down temporarily-otherwise we can use mine. `michael Feb 08, 08 | 7:28 am

right on. still working on the live-setup for this show. we want to do something, that we can also bring to the states for the tour. its kind of difficult. we tried with sequencers and analog synths, but its way too complicated to bring that on for a tour. we´ll see! d

i want to talk to the label about it. since we finally hit the DAC there is a little buzz going on now. so we might do a little tour edition of the album... or just an ep.
