when the fuck is this shit coming out?

and which artists do you think would create the best haujobb covers? it's hard to say, since not many artists can measure up to HAUJOBB.

I personally would love to hear FLA on the tribute, though many would tend to disagree with that.

Well Mnemonic is climbing in the DAC charts, DJ's love their new stuff, but I have to disagree about being clones... :)

no complaints here, i'd rather have more haujobb clones, instead of VNV...nothing against VNV though.

but i think mnemonic somewhat have a style of their own, im anxious to see what they have in store for their next album...haujobb 'matrix' samples are definitley evident in their present album.

well almost every cover will be better then the origional...haujobb was good but has quickly become one of the worst bands in my opinion....everything before 99 was great everything after 99 is just coaster material.

Here's a good band or bands that would do justice to them....any band that doesn't sound like them. You know the cover album will end up being a cd full of bands that already sound like Haujobb doing Haujobb songs.

I didnt care for Mnemonic's first album, but holy hell is the new one good. I can see SOME Haujobb sounds going on there but I think they sound more on par with an older Lassigue Bendthaus sound. The new discs are fuckin amazing for Mnemonic IMO.

As for a Haujobb tribute..I dunno what the point would be? I do think Haujobb are an amazing band, but I think alot of other bands broke ground before Haujobb came along and I dont see any tributes going out to them ;p

For those that have not yet heard the new MNEMONIC material, Side-Line will have a free download up within 2 weeks...

The latest album is indeed an excellent release ( The "Nahtot" EP is very good as well, grab it before it's gone at http://shop.alfa-matrix.com ), note the tracks were Sandrine from SEIZE offers guestvocals for the limited 2CD box. Owners of this album include Johnny Marr from the Smiths, P. Codenys from FRONT 242 etc. It tells something when people like this request material...

We know what those people are worth, so let's say we appreciate their support and taste. It doesn't happen all the times that one gets a phonecall from Johnny for more info... :)

Strange, i would have never pinned Marr as an EBM fan..

Also where is this info about a haujobb. tribute? We just finished the track for the Mentallo tribute and Noise Process would love a hack at haujobb..heh

I wouldn't really describe Mnemonic as EBM ???
Don't forget Marr is also involved in Electronic together with Bernard S. from New Order...

People who SHOULD be on it:
David Thrussell
MorF (or 242)
:W:
AND ONE
SleepChamber
Sylver for
Skinny Puppy
Coil
The Horrorist
Ubin
Current 93

but sadly I bet we get a hocico, suicide commando, implant, a23, amduscia thing that has a bandlist like the last 5 comps/singles/remix cds I bought, my guess is more 136-140 bpm four on the floor trying to turn true art into a DAC single.

headscan is not a haujobb clone....two very different sounds....haujobb definitely deserves a tribute, they're one of the only bands that are constantly evolving and creating a different sound with each album.

Mnemonic is not ebm....more like electro/idm with hints of ebm on some tracks.

btw, ive heard about this haujobb tribute a while ago...more than a year ago...but it seems like its just died down for some reason.

I cant believe with all this talk of Haujobb clones, no one has mentioned Dark Illumination. If you ever felt like hearing Solutions For A Small Planet Pt. 2, then go for it. I have their album Realize The Error, and I dont think they quite "realized" their error of making an exact clone of Haujobb

Yes, sure, I forgot Dark Illumination, the first and a really good Haujobb clone ;) But if you want to know, who probably impressed Daniel Myer a lot, then listen to Lassigue Bendthaus ;)) Greeetz

I really don't think Haujobb is influential enough to have a tribute....I even think a Frontline Assembly tribute is pushing it a bit.....
Haujobb is great and I own all of their full lengths but when I think of bands that have had "tributes" in our scene...the tributes being good or not...I think of Front 242 ,Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Depeche Mode, and the like.....hell...I would still like to see a KLINIK tribute album but that probably won't happen

i completely disagree.^ i feel you can hear the influence after "solutions..." and "matrix but yeah, it is not _time_for a tribute. truth be known, i would definitely snatch it up in a store/onlinestore if i saw it

...C93 is a must. Snog/BL yep.. Beefcake..yep...they already have some samples.. Skinny Puppy?? ha,now that would be kinda funny......neat nonetheless...hm, me thinks we should finally the dance version of yearning from mentallo and the fixer...just for ole times sake...anyway

Frontline pales in comparison to haujobb. Tactical was badass, hardwired was good, the rest really sort of leaves the noodle limp. Everything Daniel does is good for what it is whatever it might be that time around. Wasn't incredibly fond of polarity but time and again he makes great music. Uncompromising is the word I think of when I think of haujobb.

Umm... there's already a FLA tribute out there www.momt.co.uk

It appears to be a marmite CD, i.e. you either love it or hate every second of it.

I don't think the haujobb tribute is happening anymore. (If we're talking about the same one). That was going to come out on the label Daniel had for a short time (he just released one compilations I believe), but the project eventually just fell apart as did the label. Knock it off with the damn bold text, please. :)

Fine, if you people are going to be so upset about it. I really don't see what the big deal is as I post this way in every forum and always have..

But since you asked nicely i don't want to be an ass..

Too bad about the haujobb tribute. It would have been very interesting and I would have loved to be part of it.
