Admx-71 – Melted Fuel (Vinyl 12” – L.I.E.S.)
Genre/Influences: Industrial, techno, EBM, minimal electronics.
Background/Info: Adam Mitchell is a man of many talents. We know him as label owner, DJ and also a kind of pioneer in the techno-underground music. He now strikes back under the Admx-71 moniker to unleash this new maxi featuring 3 new cuts.
Content: The songs feature the familiar influences Adam Mitchell has used to play with for years now. It takes off a rather industrial way to rapidly move into electronic minimalism and vintage EBM influences. There’s a bit of Front 242 running through “Dire Situation” and a real symbiosis between vintage electronics and more contemporary formats at “Neutron Absorber”.
+ + + : Admx-71 is not the kind of project repeating itself although the influences remain pretty similar to earlier work. I like the sonic osmosis between industrial music, EBM, minimal electronics and techno. In the end it all sounds pretty experimental and minimal-like, but also revealing the creative spirit of the artist and a real passion for sound creation.
– – – : “Melted Fuel” is not my favorite work from Admx-71 and that’s maybe because it’s a little bit more into experimentalism then other releases.
Conclusion: “Melted Fuel” is not my favorite work from Adam Mitchell, but it remains a great and avant-garde like experience in ‘techno’.
Best songs: “Dire Situation”, “Neutron Absorber”.
